A New Hope For Our Future And Income

I'm excited!

It has been quite some time since I've felt this kind of excitement especially when it comes to online ventures.

I've dabbled in so many things, had SO many failures and minor successes but one thing my old martial arts teacher would say to me is – Adam you're a glutton for punishment aren't ya? You just don't quit!

I've been working hard at my new job and I mean that in every figurative sense possible. For roughly 9 hours a day, I'm basically getting paid to workout and move car parts back and forth.

Since starting in March I've lost close to if not more than 20lbs and my stomach is looking less round, my muscles are getting more defined and my health seems to be improving.

A major downside though is that once I stop moving by the time I get home I crash and crash hard. I'm spent, exhausted, and have very little energy.

But right now the money is good.

Our bank account continues to grow and recently I just learned if I add an extra hour to every day I work I push past the 40-hour threshold and will receive time and half which puts almost an extra $700 dollars a month into our pockets!

I've yet to try the overtime approach but this week or next I'm going to try it for the next 10 days and see how I feel about it.

That extra money could easily go to paying off our bills faster which is definitely one of our main focal goals.

Secondly,

I've got new online projects in the works and I'm documenting one case study step-by-step.

I've found a love of a new hobby and something I'm working on creating an online presence for. It has been quite some time since I built a website specifically for a niche market but this time I'm playing the long game.

Before, I tried my hand at the micro-niche website game and built 5 or 10-page websites that had thin content and basically were total crap and I can be highly impatient especially when there are bills to pay.

But now,

I'm documenting all my steps, costs, and setup procedures, and working on content and keyword research to further build out this site. There are so many options and so many directions it can take but still remain focus in particular category that it has me thinking about it left and right when I'm not near a computer.

There are so many options and so many directions it can take but still remain focus in particular category that it has me thinking about it left and right when I'm not near a computer.

I can't say for certain how well it will do but I was so motivated that in 2 days I had the core foundation built and articles ready to roll out.

I also made sure to add Google Analytics so I could track the progress from its literal “born/start” date so I could determine how much traffic I receive each month as I continue to add and grow the site out.

Thirdly,

My wife and I discussed our finances 2 days ago and we've decided for the month of June we're going to attempt something we've never tried before and live just off my income alone.

She's not quitting her job or anything but we want to try and challenge ourselves to see where exactly we stand if we had to live off just one main source of income alone.

The reasoning behind this is kind of two-fold.

We want to have a baby and start a family which means we need to see how hard of a strain we'll face when she's not able to work for a certain time period. The other reason being that if we're able to live just off my income alone we'll know that we can put her income to our debts and get them paid off quicker.

But we are keeping a safety net in place but I'll leave that for another article later on this week.

Do you live off just one source of income?
